Air Force Junior ROTC - January 2009

Palo Duro High School

The mission of the Air Force JROTC is to "Build better citizens for America." These students strive to accomplish this mission through their academic and leadership education, activities, teams and Life After High School program. Giving back to the community through community service is an important part of the program. During the last school year, the cadets performed 1766 hours of community service, including 31 events supported by their color guard. The cadets also supported the Thomas Creek VA Hospital, State Veterans Nursing Home, Adopt a Highway, Community Prayer Breakfast, Armed Forces Day Banquet, Random Acts of Kindness and the Red Cross. The cadets raised over $2,200 for the Panhandle Red Cross Heroes Campaign and in a recent book drive, collected more than 2,000 books for the Salvation Army and Eveline Rivers Christmas Project.
